The Short Version
HotSpringer helps you find, track, and remember hot springs. It is a tool, not a guide: natural hot springs can be dangerous, the information in the app can be wrong, and you are responsible for your own safety and decisions.

Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and SentraSense, LLC, an Idaho limited liability company ("SentraSense," "we," "us"), the maker of HotSpringer.
By tapping "Agree & Continue" or by using HotSpringer, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
If you are under 18, you may use HotSpringer only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
Your License
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HotSpringer on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple's App Store Usage Rules.
You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it (except where applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction); or create derivative works from it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by SentraSense.
Outdoor Safety and Assumption of Risk
Visiting natural hot springs and traveling to them involves serious risks, including death or serious injury. These include, among others:
- Scalding water, hidden hot spots, and sudden changes in temperature that can cause severe burns.
- Thin or unstable ground around thermal features, and slippery or loose rock.
- Naturally occurring organisms in warm water, including Naegleria fowleri, which can cause a rare but usually fatal brain infection if water enters the nose. Keep your head above water.
- Toxic gases, poor water quality, and heat-related illness, especially with alcohol, medications, pregnancy, or heart conditions.
- Drowning, remote terrain, river crossings, wildlife, weather, road conditions, and the absence of cell service or emergency help.
HotSpringer does not inspect, rate, or verify the safety of any location. You alone decide whether to travel to or enter any spring, and you voluntarily assume all risks of doing so. Check current conditions with official sources, obey posted signs and closures, and tell someone your plans before you go.
Information Is Approximate
Spring locations, descriptions, coordinates, distances, drive-time estimates, compass directions, and automatically detected visits are approximate and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Much of this information is entered by you or imported from files provided by others.
GPS and map data can be inaccurate, especially in canyons, forests, and remote areas. Do not rely on HotSpringer as your only means of navigation or for any decision where your safety depends on accuracy. HotSpringer is not an emergency service and cannot summon help.
Land Access and the Law
A spring appearing in HotSpringer does not mean you may legally access it. Springs may be on private, tribal, or public land that is closed, permitted, or restricted, or may be culturally significant.
You are responsible for obtaining any permission required, respecting landowners and closures, following all applicable laws, and leaving places as you found them.
Your Content and Sharing
You own the content you create in HotSpringer, such as springs, notes, photos, and visit history. We do not receive, review, or moderate it.
You are responsible for everything you create, import, export, and share, including locations that owners or communities may wish to keep private, and photos of other people (get their consent). Sharing uses your device's standard sharing features; once shared, content is controlled by its recipients.
Files you import from others may be inaccurate or incomplete. Review them before relying on them.
Your Data and Backups
Your HotSpringer data is stored only on your device. We do not have a copy and cannot restore it. Deleting the app deletes your data. You are responsible for making backups using the app's export features.
Private (locked) photos are encrypted on your device and hidden behind your lock code. This is a convenience protection, not a guarantee against every form of access. The lock code cannot be recovered if forgotten, and backup files you export contain private photos in readable form so they can be restored.
Pre-Release Versions and Changes
Beta and other pre-release versions may contain errors and incomplete features. Any feature may change, be hidden, or be removed at any time.
We may update the app and these Terms. If we make a material change to these Terms, we will ask you to accept the updated version in the app before continuing to use it.
Third-Party Services
HotSpringer relies on services provided by others, including iOS, Apple Maps, and Firebase Crashlytics. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or practices. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOTSPRINGER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, that information in it is accurate or safe to rely on, or that your data will not be lost.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SENTRASENSE AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF HOTSPRINGER OR ANY TRAVEL TO OR VISIT OF ANY LOCATION, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER THEORY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO HOTSPRINGER WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US$10).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SentraSense and its members, managers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your conduct (including entering any property or spring), your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of others.
Termination
Your license ends automatically if you violate these Terms. You may stop using HotSpringer at any time by deleting it. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the app will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Idaho, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the place where you live. Where those laws do not allow a disclaimer or limitation above, it applies only to the extent permitted.
Apple
These Terms are between you and SentraSense only, not Apple Inc. SentraSense, not Apple, is solely responsible for HotSpringer and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. SentraSense, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and SentraSense about HotSpringer.
